Caterham Masterplan

Tandridge District Council recently adopted the Caterham Masterplan which seeks to create a vision to guide how Caterham town centre can be improved over the next 10 years.

It is a formal part of Tandridge’s Local Plan and will be used to help determine future planning applications.

REGENERATION OPPORTUNITIES

The Caterham Masterplan recognised that Church Walk should be redeveloped to revitalise the retail and leisure offer in Caterham as a key element of the wider town centre proposals. The document set out the following specific  expectations for the Church Walk redevelopment:

It should be “extended and integrated into the town centre providing better and larger retail units.”

Any scheme should consider “improvements to existing car parking provision on site via refurbishment/ enhancement.”

Any redevelopment should “ensure an
improved frontage to Station Avenue”.

And also “the setting of St Johns Church should be enhanced”.

Ropemaker’s plans have specifically sought to meet the expectations set out in the Caterham Masterplan.
